At the forefront of our proposal is a new area of green, public open space bordering the southern edge of the site along Worsley Bridge Road. Currently this boundary is screened to the public with a chain link and concrete fence behind dense hedge row. The proposals will seek to visually open this boundary to the public as well as provide access to green areas and playspace beyond. We are therefore keen for local people to help shape our plans for this green space and would welcome your input about possible uses within it.
You can see the location of the open space in the landscaping plan below (the proposed buildings are represented by the white boxes). It will be visible from Worsley Bridge Road but protected by railings and low hedges.
Some initial ideas including provision of formal playspace and parkland in the area circled blue are shown above. However we are keen for local people to help shape our plans for this green space and would welcome your input about possible uses within it.
We are also proposing a community garden in the area circled in orange above for residents of the new homes, however this will still accessible to the public. The area could include an ecology pond, native grassland and wildlife friendly plants. Education boards could also be inserted to help promote knowledge of local biodiversity. We would welcome any thoughts and suggestions for this space.
